The Directorate of Graduate Training at Kabale University invites staff, students, researchers and the wider academic community to a high-level public lecture scheduled for Monday, 11th May 2026 at KABSOM Hall, Main Campus.
The lecture will be delivered by Professor Gerald Karyeija Kagambirwe of the Uganda Management Institute (UMI), a distinguished scholar and seasoned academic in the field of Management Science and International Governance. Professor Karyeija has served UMI for over two decades and currently coordinates the Centre for Doctoral and Post-doctoral Studies.
The lecture will focus on the theme: “Understanding the Evolving International Governance Norms: United States/Israel Offensive Against Iran and Its Implications for the New World Order, with Specific Reference to Africa.”
This timely and thought-provoking discussion aims to examine the changing dynamics of international governance during the era of U.S. President Donald Trump, particularly in relation to diplomacy, international trade, peace, and conflict. It will also provide a platform for participants to reflect on Africa’s strategic positioning within the broader context of the U.S./Israel-Iran conflict and its political, economic, and regional implications.
The session is expected to deepen scholarly understanding of emerging global governance trends while fostering critical dialogue on international relations and Africa’s place in the evolving world order.
All members of the university community and interested stakeholders are encouraged to attend and participate in this important academic engagement.
