The Faculty of Economics, Technology, Applied Design and Fine Art (FETADFA), Kabale University, invites postgraduate students and academic staff to participate in a workshop aimed at enhancing academic research skills and effective utilization of library resources.
The workshop will provide participants with practical guidance on accessing scholarly resources, conducting literature reviews, identifying credible research sources, utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly in academic work and preparing professional presentations for proposal defence.
The sessions will be facilitated by experienced resource persons from the University Library and the Communication, Branding and Marketing Department.

Session 1: Accessing Library Resources and Enhancing Research Skills
Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

- Effective literature search and review techniques
- Evaluating and selecting credible academic sources
- Responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research

- Identifying and avoiding predatory (junk) journals

Session 2: Preparing Effective Proposal Defence Presentations
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

- Designing professional presentation slides
- Structuring proposal defence presentations
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Common presentation mistakes and how to avoid them
