The Department of Anaesthesia at Kabale University School of Medicine, in collaboration with African and European Society for Regional Anaesthesia, invites you to the second World Day of Regional Anaesthesia celebrations on the 25th January 2025.
The event aims to promote pain management, regional anaesthesia collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional development among all medical professionals in Uganda who handle patients in pain, anaesthesia practitioners, scholars, and students.
Why This Event Matters
Anaesthesia plays a vital role in modern medicine, extending beyond the operating theatre to encompass intensive care units, emergency and trauma care, and pain clinics. However, in sub-Saharan Africa, public awareness of regional anaesthesia techniques and the critical pain-relief roles of anaesthesiologists remains low. This lack of awareness affects resource allocation and the availability of these essential services.
Regional anaesthesia has emerged as a cornerstone of modern peri-operative care. By attending this event, you will be part of an effort to:
- Promote pain management strategies.
- Encourage collaboration among medical professionals.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and professional development.
- Raise public awareness about the importance of regional anaesthesia.
