The Faculty of Law at Kabale University is honored to host Hon. Justice Mike Chibita, Justice of the Supreme Court of Uganda, for a distinguished Rule of Law and Research Session scheduled for Friday, 22nd May 2026 at 9:00 AM in the LLB I Class, Faculty of Law.
Hon. Justice Mike Chibita is widely recognized for his distinguished judicial and legal career, marked by years of dedicated public service and significant contributions to the administration of justice, constitutional governance, and the strengthening of legal institutions in Uganda. His vast experience within the justice sector continues to shape legal scholarship and judicial development across the country.
This important engagement will provide students, academic staff, researchers, and members of the legal fraternity with a unique opportunity to interact with a senior member of Uganda’s apex court on critical issues surrounding the rule of law, the role of the judiciary, and the significance of legal research in promoting justice and democratic governance.
Discussions will focus on constitutionalism, judicial independence, protection of rights and freedoms, public trust in the justice system, and the evolving responsibility of the judiciary in ensuring accountability, fairness, and access to justice.
