The Department of Anaesthesia, under the Kabale University School of Medicine (KABSOM), in collaboration with Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, is pleased to invite Kabale University students, staff, and the general public to the World Anaesthesia Day 2025 Symposium. The event will be held at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital (KRRH) Main Hall, Makanga Hill, on October 30th, 2025, under the theme: “Anaesthesia for Health Emergencies.”
Anaesthesia is a cornerstone of modern healthcare, extending far beyond the operating theatre to include intensive care units, emergency response, trauma management, and pain clinics. This year’s symposium seeks to raise awareness about the critical role anaesthetists play in managing health emergencies, saving lives, and improving patient outcomes across Uganda.
As KABSOM continues to train skilled professionals and enhance capacity in anaesthesia, this celebration recognizes the dedication and resilience of those who ensure safe surgical and emergency care every day. The event serves as a reminder of the importance of teamwork, training, and innovation in advancing healthcare delivery.
“Our team stands stronger each day: trained, equipped, and united in saving lives. Together, we are transforming anaesthesia into a model of excellence in Uganda and beyond,” the organizers noted.
