Kabale University together with EPFL-UM6P established the Centre of Competence in Digital Education (C-CoDE). The University is among the six lucky Universities from Africa benefiting from this grant, other universities are; 1. The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology, Arusha, Tanzania, 2. Moi University, Moi, Kenya, 3. University of Abuja, Abuja, Nigeria, 4. École Supérieure Multinationale des Télécommunications, Dakar, Sénégal ; 5. Université Nangui Abrogoua, Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
EPFL and UM6P have brought their pedagogical, scientific and technical expertise who have:
- Built the necessary infrastructure to produce quality digital educational content, such as Massive Open Online Courses (hereinafter, “MOOCs”) and Open Educational Resources (hereinafter, “OER”).
- Provided the Trainees of the Kabale University with the appropriate theoretical and hands-on instruction in the technical and pedagogical aspects of digital education. Technicians from the university have been trained to operate the production studios. Trained in digital education experts in instructional design and Thirty (30) Faculty Members.
- Provided funds for travel and accommodation of the Trainees.
We expect guests from EPFL and UM6P, Swiss Embassy, and Embassy of Morocco representatives during the launch.
