Bridging Theory and Practice in Taxation: URA Officials to Deliver Guest Lecture

In line with Kabale University’s commitment to strengthening practical and industry-oriented learning, the Department of Business Studies under the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, in collaboration with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Kabale Station, has organized a physical guest lecture aimed at enriching students’ academic and professional development.

The session will be facilitated by URA officials, who will provide valuable professional insights into contemporary tax administration and practice in Uganda. This engagement is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, while also strengthening institutional collaboration between the University and URA.

Participants will gain exposure to key areas including:

  • Tax administration and compliance in Uganda
  • Use of e-tax systems and digital platforms
  • Filing of returns and taxpayer obligations
  • Current tax reforms and policy developments
  • Practical challenges and professional expectations in taxation

The lecture is specifically tailored for students pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) and Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance, Year 2, Semester 2, under the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences. Both Day and Weekend programme students are encouraged to attend.
